Luogogrifi

In Luogogrifi, articulations of bodies and feelings meet on pages written in languages distant from the Western world. The feminine eludes, men lose their heads — literally , love is never entirely resolved, any more than war is. The found paper — Urdu, Hindi, Hebrew, Gujarati — carries with it the thought of something from the past that remains intact through time. On every page I have built a puzzle in which the elements do not explain one another, but tend to produce something that eludes definition before one can be reached. What is recognizable never changes: solitude, desire, the fragility of bodies, the desecration of power.
