Urban Outfish

Urban Outfish brings together a series of eight collages dedicated to marine creatures. Working from old architectural prints as a base, the depicted organisms absorb the straight lines of the buildings The union between these elements not only overturns the relationship of subordination that the human being has imposed on nature, but — as in Awakenings — suggests a possibility of symbiosis between the two: a coexistence in which marine life becomes the guardian of our home.

The project is a reflection on the fate of the human being and on the need to protect the waters and their inhabitants. Global warming is accelerating the rise in sea levels: in a future, submerged world, fish are imagined as guardians of what remains, a reminder that our own survival depends on their health.
